With the numerical finite element simulation, the stress on components or designs can be tested under different loads. A wide range of analyses are used in this process:

  • Static analyses to determine tensions and deformations under constant load
  • Modal analyses to determine natural frequencies and mode shapes
  • Dynamic frequency and time analyses to determine the vibration behavior of individual designs or complete systems

The dynamic frequency analyses in particular are extremely important for the functional capability and quality evaluation of a machine tool or design, as any number of measured variables (e.g. vibration paths, accelerations and speeds) can be output depending on the excitation frequency.
